May 27, 2016 Still Working on the Downed Trees

JB chainsawing the "smaller"
rounds.

Wednesday 5/25. We cut some of the smaller fir rounds and moved them to the splitter with the tractor bucket, then I began to trim the second pile of pine branches.  Will it never end?!  All our work completely negated the showers we took yesterday.

Our high for the day was 70, but fortunately there was a cool breeze.

I drove down to Larry and Elsie's this evening to go over everything for my house-dog-cat-chicken-garden sitting this weekend.  Not much has changed since the last time, but they do have a new greenhouse and more chickens.

Thursday 5/26. It was 46 and partly cloudy this morning.  The clouds stayed around all day, as did the breeze, and our high was 62, which was very pleasant.

We cut the last of the "smaller" fir rounds and moved them over to the splitter.  The rest of the rounds are all about 28" in diameter.  JB cut one more round off the smaller of the two stumps & will use that stump for a flag pole base.  Then I continued clipping the pine branches and JB did some weed eating.  Won't be working as hard tomorrow as I have to pack for the weekend.

Friday 5/27. This morning is 40 and partly cloudy.  We plan to cut one or two of the large rounds and then I'll spend the afternoon getting ready for the weekend.

Thought for the day: Until further notice, celebrate everything!
